"Herb Lanford was first elected the Board of Trustees of The NRA Foundation in May of 2001, and it is a great pleasure to welcome him back," said James W. A lifelong hunter, competitive shooter and legislative/grassroots activist, Mr. Lanford is active in various professional, civic and sportsmen's organizations at the local, state and national levels.

Mr. Lanford has been a longtime supporter of The NRA Foundation, and chaired the Southeast's first Friends of NRA event. Since its establishment in 1990, The NRA Foundation, Inc., a 501(c) (3) tax-exempt organization, has funded more than 11,000 grants totaling over $71 million dollars, becoming America's leading charitable organization in support of a wide range of firearm-related public interest activities of the National Rifle Association of America and other organizations that defend and foster the Second Amendment rights of all law-abiding Americans. These activities are designed to promote firearms and hunting safety, to enhance marksmanship skills of those participating in the shooting sports, and to educate the general public about firearms in their historic, technological and artistic context.
